Background
The new Junior Company of Dutch National Ballet was formed in 2013 to provide a unique development programme for 12 young dancers. The inaugural company draws together emerging talent from around the world, and Springboard offers UK audiences the first opportunity to experience their vibrancy and beauty.
Their programme includes pas de deux from the classical ballets, including Van Dantzig'sSwan Lake, Peter Wright's The Sleeping Beauty and Petipa's Diane et Actaeon. Van Manen's coolly erotic Kwintet is presented with works by dancer and choreographer Ernst Meisner, artistic director of the company. The programme concludes with the UK premiere of Dawn Dances by George Williamson, artistic associate of English National Ballet.
