Spitalfields Music present Handel's Acis and Galatea in an award-winining adaptation for toddlers.

Introduction
A sleepy giant strides through the fields, in search of a space to rest. Meanwhile, a young water nymph tries to make rain – although things don’t quite go according to plan!

Background

The Mountain Shakers is the fourth in Spitalfields Music's award-winning Musical Rumpus series, where Baroque operas are re-imagined to create stories that delight toddlers and parents alike. Children are given the opportunity to explore sounds and instruments all the way through the performance – including a specially-designed free-play session – with beautiful music that has been arranged to entice younger listeners.
The Mountain Shakers draws on George Frideric Handel's charming pastoral Acis and Galatea. Music director and arranger Sam Glazer leads the audience on a voyage through a mysterious world of giants and mountains, sounds and colours, on a multi-sensory, interactive adventure in opera.
